WASHINGTON — They helped you scrape ice and snow from your walkway; they dug out a path to the car; they got that mountain of snow off the top of your minivan. Now it’s time to honor good neighbors with the Golden Shovel Award.
Montgomery County Council member Nancy Floreen’s office is taking nominations for the award “to honor residents who lace up their boots to help neighbors shovel out after a snowfall” until March 31.
Floreen says it’s about honoring those who put the Golden Rule into action.
The only rules: You must live in the county, and you can’t nominate yourself.
You can email your nomination with the subject line “Golden Shovel,” or download the nomination form and mail it to Montgomery County Council- SAFE/Golden Shovel Award; 100 Maryland Avenue Rockville, MD 20850.
